About Aramit Cement Limited
In 1963, Aramit Company was established as part of the ETERNIT Group, a Belgium-based multinational with roots dating back to the 19th century. The ETERNIT Group originated in 1900 with Austrian industrialist Ludwig Hatschek's technology for cement reinforced with fibers. The Group's journey continued, and in 1995, it was renamed Etex Group to better reflect its evolving identity. In 1993, the ownership of the ETERNIT Group transitioned to Akteruzzaman Chowdhury, a prominent entrepreneur and politician, who later handed over control to his son, Saifuzzaman Chowdhury.
