Nitol Insurance Company Limited (NICL) is a Non-Life Insurance Company established in Bangladesh on October 04, 1999, as a Public Limited Company under the Companies Act, 1994. The Department of Insurance, Govt. of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, granted registration to NICL for insurance operations in Motor, Marine, Fire, and Miscellaneous categories, starting from November 18, 1999. Mr. A K M Monirul Hoque serves as the founder Chairman of NICL. Initially, the company had a paid-up capital of Tk. 6 Crore. In 2005, NICL increased its capital to Tk. 9 Crore through an Initial Public Offering (IPO) and subsequently got listed on both Dhaka Stock Exchange Limited (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange Limited (CSE). As of now, the paid-up capital has reached Tk. 40,20,76,390/.
