Northern Jute Manufacturing Company Limited established a modern jute yarn and twine manufacturing plant with 2433 spindles on 5.5 acres in BSCIC Industrial Estate, Kumargara, Kushtia. The production capacity is 7500.00 M Tons, operating three shifts per day for 300 working days annually, employing around 700 workers. Machinery from the UK, Germany, India, and China was imported, with Unit No.1 using James Mackie equipment and Unit No.2 expanding with machinery from Zhejiang Golden Eagale Co. Ltd. (China), starting commercial production on April 25, 1984. Unit No.2, operational since July 1, 2016, produces heavy and light count yarn. The company exports its products to various countries, including EEC countries, Turkey, Japan, Hong Kong, Poland, Russia, Bulgaria, India, China, and Australia. Known for quality, Northern Jute Manufacturing Company Limited is a Public Limited Company listed on the Dhaka Stock Exchange.
